What will you be doing!
  • Managing the development, integration, and delivery of medium-risk decommissioning innovation projects to meet schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives to the full satisfaction of customers.
  • Planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, through discussions with management and internal clients to define the scope and timing of the project deliverables.
  • Leading a project team of technical staff, including the involvement of project planning coordinators, to cost the specific components of the project based on work package breakdown.
  • Establishing and defining the scope of work, determining project priorities, and division of responsibilities.
  • Reviewing the project with the Project Team and regularly meeting with the Project Team for updates on deliverables against the plan.
  • Motivating team members to meet quality, scope, and cost constraints.
  • Securing seconded resources through resource/functional managers to execute the project.
  • Controlling the project scope and managing the risks including proper management of deliverables within the estimated timeframe and notifying management of issues, which could potentially impact the cost and timing of the project.
  • Establishing and administering project budgets and schedules and approving changes to the scope of work within project management guidelines.
  • Reporting on project performance to clients, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Leading the ongoing delivery of project objectives, including setting project-related performance objectives, and providing regular feedback and guidance to the project staff.
  • Preparing justification documents for the purchase of capital equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
  • Education
    • Graduation from a recognized institute of advanced technology or equivalent formal education.
  • Experience
    • Significant related experience in a field of specialization, including demonstrated leadership experience.
    • Five to Eight years of demonstrated experience in leadership, digital visualization, training development and information management.
    • Experience leading a team, demonstrated success in achieving team goals, and the ability to establish good relationships with internal stakeholder groups and individuals of diverse professions are required.
    • Experience supporting commercial activities.
    • Building and maintaining a strategic plan for new innovative technology.
    • Experience in nuclear decommissioning and environmental remediation is an asset.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Ability to assume responsibility for planning activities that (i) carry legal liabilities and (ii) have the potential for significant and adverse impacts on health, safety, and the environment.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to disseminate information to other team members and clients, and strong team problem-solving skills are essential.
    • Self-starter and able to work independently, with minor oversight and supervision.
    • Demonstrate organization and planning skills; ability to establish priorities; define action plans; set and meet deadlines; monitor performance.
    • Proven initiative, motivation, and good people skills to work with management, peers, and internal and external clients.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with various groups at all levels daily on project and non-project-related activities.
    • Ability to perform various duties, changing tasks without loss of efficiency or composure.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong understanding of change management concepts and experience leading change initiatives.
    • Have a good base knowledge of the Canada Labour Code, WHMIS, CNSC regulations, and other codes about life safety.
    • An excellent working knowledge and ability to apply the applicable codes associated with decommissioning and remediating nuclear sites and buildings.
    • Knowledge and application of radiation protection principles, measurements and contamination control would be an asset. A minimum of Group 3 certification may be required.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions:
  • 4 day work week, 10 hour shifts
