Sessional Instructor - Biomedical Signals, Systems and Instrumentation I

The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach BMEN 388 - Biomedical Signals, Systems and Instrumentation I in the Winter 2025 term. The course is scheduled to be delivered in-person.
Course Description:
Principles of signals and systems in the context of operating principles of biological systems at multiple physiological scales. Impulse response and convolution. Concept of frequency and time domains, Fourier and Laplace transforms for signal and system analysis. System analysis in the frequency domain. Difference equation representation of systems. Stability analysis. Sensors and actuators. Review of circuits and introduction to basic analog signal conditioning amplification and filtering. Noise and mitigation. Programming for signals and systems.
Winter Term Course Schedule:
Lecture: Mon, Wed, Fri - 8:00am-8:50am
Qualifications:
Candidates must have an academic background in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering. Past teaching experience, preferably in a closely related course or courses will be a plus.
