Reporting to the Product Department Supervisor, the role of Technical Product Specialist will act to support the Product Manager with a focus on the Chemical category to expand technical knowledge and identify areas of improvement and identify areas of improvement within product category.
You will be responsible to:
  • Support the Chemical product manager to execute on the new product introduction process, to ensure successful product development, launches and organic life-cycle initiatives.
  • Create and maintain product technical documentation and resources, including, but not limited to technical data sheets, FAQ’s, compatibility charts, “how to use” documentation.
  • Consult with our suppliers and internal regulatory department to secure and update product safety data sheets as required.
  • Conduct market research to monitor industry trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for new product development or improvements to existing product offerings.
  • Work directly with third-party laboratories and global testing authorities to leverage product benchmarking in key performance areas and, in conjunction with the product manager, deliver insights to fortify product reputation.
  • Work with product management and division teams to translate customer needs into product requirements and enhancements.
  • Conduct field market research, monitor industry trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for new product development or improvements to existing offerings.
  • Identify new opportunities, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success, including, but not limited to: growth, profitability and customer development.
  • Strengthen product credibility, awareness and competency for our internal/external customers.
  • Act as a product expert providing insights and technical knowledge to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, our direct salesforce and the executive team.
  • Work with the product managers to support and develop product training and collateral, with an emphasis on the Chemical product category.
What YOU will bring to this role:
  • Experience in product management in related categories or industry.
  • College or University Education in business or a related field.
  • A background with Chemicals through work experience or education.
• Keen self-awareness and alignment with a workplace culture that is built on humanistic values and continuous improvement. • Ability to negotiate pricing and terms with internal and external suppliers.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to positively engage internal and external stakeholders and meet project timelines.
  • Analytical skills to work with relevant data, interpret and create insights.
  • Skilled at using analytical tools to compile, extract and leverage data in a meaningful way, (creating pivot tables, graphs, presentations, etc.).
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (intermediate level for excel).
  • An innovative mindset with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • A self-starter who can perform in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator who can create authentic relationships with colleagues.
  • Bilingualism in English/French is an asset.
