Our Opportunity:
We're looking for our new Business Development Ground Freight WSA in Santiago, Chile. In this role you will be responsible for for designing and optimizing transport solutions to ensure efficient and effective operations. This role involves analyzing operational requirements, evaluating existing systems, and proposing innovative solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, Finance, HSSE, Procurement, etc. to understand business needs, operational challenges, and goals related to transport operations.

Develop and design innovative and cost-effective Distribution solutions that align with business requirements. This includes designing of solution, automation solutions, and process workflows.

Identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and cost reduction through data analysis, benchmarking, and industry best practices. Continuously review and enhance existing systems and processes to optimize overall performance.

Evaluate and recommend appropriate technology solutions to enhance warehouse and distribution operations. This may involve implementing Transportation Management Systems (TMS), automation technologies, and other relevant tools.

Generate reports and present findings to stakeholders, including senior management, to communicate proposed designs and justify investment.

Collaborate with internal teams, such as engineering, procurement, IT, and operations, to ensure seamless implementation of proposed solutions.

Lead and manage projects related to distribution solution design, including timeline management, resource allocation, budgeting, and risk mitigation. Ensure successful project delivery within specified timeframes and budget constraints.

Ensure all distribution solutions comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines. Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure a safe working environment for employees.

Responsible for reading and filing out the RFI and RFQ and consolidating all freight related questions and tables.

Support Ground Freight Manager, Business Development Manager and Business Development team on the commercial opportunities’ development.

Prepare the slides that explain working flows, distribution tactics, per each opportunity/specific to each client.

Work close with Procurement and vendors.

Develop KPIs and country-level transit timetables in alignment with vendor KPIs, and monitor performance.

Ensure back-to-back terms and conditions in between end-client/Maersk and Maersk/Vendors – all in writing, as part of each proposal, as well as the Maersk risk management process.

Support the implementation and SOP creation for new businesses landed.
We're looking for:

Previous experience in distribution solution design, preferably in a 3PL, transport o Logistics companies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect and analyze data to drive decision-making.

Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Auto CAD, Excel, and other relevant software applications, knowledge to create power BI or similar
-
Knowledge of principles and methodologies for process improvement.

Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex ideas and proposals to stakeholders at all levels.

Attention to detail, focusing on accuracy and quality in design deliverables.
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

English proficiency
