Training & Education Director, China

Position Summary
The Training & Education Director, China will develop and organize the training and education system for Implant, Prosthetic, Digital workflow and Biomaterial solutions to support the business growth. As such, you will work closely with the brand HQs, country organizations, International Teams of Implantology and distributors, as well as external education partners to collaborate with business leader in formulating training and development strategies to achieve Straumann strategic ambitions.
You will be responsible for Straumann China sales initiatives through the design, development, coordination, and delivery of ongoing training programs for new hire and existing sales professionals. Curriculum includes sales skills, product & clinical knowledge, business acumen, etc. This person will identify, develop, and implement training programs that align the efforts of key stakeholders in business to ensure sales readiness.
Further, you will be responsible to build up the KOL and speaker pool, develop and groom new dentists into it and set up a professional organization of clinical professionals in China.
Lastly, you will coordinate education events, courses and speaker deployment on a country and regional level.

Key Responsibilities:
KOL/speaker management and development
- Be responsible for the coordination and alignment of educational events and speaker deployment on a regional level – aiming to maximise synergies.
- Build and utilize existing (internal and external) KOL/speaker development programs together in close alignment with Senior Management.
- Function as the go-to person for KOL/speaker management, as well as the development and grooming of new speakers.
- Prepare and actively build a network of Implant professionals across the APAC region that will function as an organizational roof for a broader network of study groups.
- Act as the gatekeeper for key speakers and KOLs in China and APAC region as well as the interface to other regional Training & Education managers and HQ.
Training & Education
- You will be responsible for the budgeting, activity planning, implementation, and evaluation of all internal training activities on a regional level.
- You will work closely with colleagues from global HQ and the APAC regional team to coordinate trainings in relation to introduction of new products, solutions, or systems.
- You will prepare and coordinate global training offerings and, if needed, participate as well.
- Manage key customers and KOLs (including the ITI); implement a KOL development plan and utilize the speaker network (local, regional, and global) to further maximise brand impact.
- Cooperate with T&E as well as Sales teams to groom new/young speakers and help develop existing speakers/KOLs to regional or international level.
- Develop a strong Training & Education network and program, which supports the growth aspiration in the value segment.
Lead and Deliver Sales Training and Development Initiatives
- Through understanding the business and organizational analysis, identify learning needs and collaborate with business leaders and training coordinators to establish sales training programs that are integrated with the business, along with customized training projects, sales effectiveness, and talent development plans based on business strategies.
- Increase the overall capabilities of the sales team through sales-oriented training programs and talent development initiatives.
- Enhance the efficiency of sales training, track the sales training process, and perfect the tracking and evaluation systems for sales training. Continuously optimize the design and implementation of learning solutions.
- Develop and coordinate training manuals and materials.
- Stay abreast of and leverage the best practices and those of the industry promptly.
- Constantly seek and support new methods, practices, and processes to enhance the efficiency of the training services offered.

Education / Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher, MBA or equivalent post graduate diploma is a plus.
- 15+ years of successful team management experience in medical devices/healthcare with a minimum of 8 years in training and development.
- Proved record in T&E leader.
- Experience in setting up a course system for medical products.
- Strong organizational and planning, and project management skills.
- Marketing, T&E, sales management experience a plus.
