Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure solutions, with a focus on optimizing performance, security, and cost-efficiency. This role requires a hands-on professional who can architect complex solutions and guide junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Architecture and Design
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Architect solutions that meet current and future business requirements, ensuring best practices in cloud design.
- Infrastructure as Code (Ia C)
- Use tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or CDK to automate infrastructure deployment and management.
- Ensure Ia C principles are embedded across all infrastructure components for consistent, reliable deployments.
- Dev Ops and Automation
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support a continuous integration and delivery model.
- Automate processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead.
- Security and Compliance
- Implement and manage robust security controls and best practices on AWS, including IAM, VPC security, and encryption.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.
- Performance Optimization and Cost Management
- Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Make recommendations for cost-saving opportunities and performance enhancements.
- Troubleshooting and Support
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for cloud infrastructure issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior cloud engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering with a primary focus on AWS services.
- Strong proficiency in AWS core services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or AWS CDK.
- Solid understanding of networking, security protocols, and cloud security best practices.
- Proficient with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, Code Pipeline).
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or other relevant languages) for automation purposes.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS).
- Knowledge of multi-cloud environments (e.g., GCP, Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Effective time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
