Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead IT Operations Engineer who will oversee and optimize our IT infrastructure, focusing on Windows and Mac OS environments as well as device management tools such as In Tune and JAMF. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day IT operations, including system maintenance, software deployment, and user support. As a lead, you will mentor junior team members, ensure adherence to best practices, and implement tools and solutions that improve the overall IT experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Administration
- Manage and maintain both Windows and Mac OS environments, ensuring security, compliance, and functionality.
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of systems and applications, utilizing In Tune and JAMF for device management.
- Device Management and Configuration
- Use Microsoft In Tune for Windows device management and JAMF for Mac devices to enforce policies, deploy applications, and perform troubleshooting.
- Develop and enforce policies for device compliance, security, and user permissions.
- User Support and Incident Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for complex IT issues and escalate when necessary.
- Use JIRA to manage and track incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and effective communication with end-users.
- Security and Compliance
- Implement and maintain security protocols across both Windows and Mac OS environments.
- Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement and Automation
- Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements within the IT operations.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT processes and incident resolution.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship
- Lead and mentor junior IT staff, providing guidance, support, and training.
- Coordinate IT initiatives and projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations or systems administration with a lead or senior role.
- Extensive experience with Windows OS and Mac OS environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft In Tune and JAMF for device management and policy enforcement.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA for ticketing, issue tracking, and incident management.
- Solid understanding of IT security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Apple Certified Support Professional, or JAMF Certified Tech.
- Experience with Power Shell or other scripting languages for automation.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and cloud-based solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members.
- Effective time management and prioritization abilities.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
