Job Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanical Structural Engineer for our Heat Transfer team. The position is located in Brno, Czech Republic. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical and structural design and analysis of an assigned scope of work in a Lummus Technology project including specific deliverables for mechanical systems, heat transfer equipment, pressure parts and vessels, rotating equipment and piping engineering. Work includes conceptual studies, design and structural calculations, specification development and supervising vendor packages for equipment and mechanical systems.
- Maintains and promotes a focus on Lummus Technology’s products whether engineering, fabrication, revamp or construction services
- Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines
- Assumes responsibility for quality and quantity including associated cost and schedule control
- Carries responsibility for the mechanical and structural design of the equipment, shall coordinate all work on the mechanical and structural design within the appointed budgets (weight, workhours) and within the schedule
- Monitors and reports the progress and status of the structural design
- Structural Steel Design engineering, being the focal point for the structural design aspects of the complete installation, including all critical parts
- Primary person responsible for the Structural Design Calculations of the framework, casing and other structural and stiffening parts of the equipment including calculations for supports for other parts on the equipment
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent by experience
- 6 – 10 years of EPF or EPC experience in a Mechanical Structural Engineer role (experience in Refining / Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or industrial fabrication industries preferred)
- Experience with STAAD and Steel Connection Studio (SCS)
- Additional experience with ANSYS Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) and/or Caesar II pipe stress analysis software is a pre
- Acquainted with codes and standards of ASME, API, ISO and ANSI
- Skilled in MS Teams, Word, Excel and Power Point
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate fluently in English
- Willing and able to travel (domestic & international) for business trips, meetings, or training
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
