Ústav fyziky atmosféry AV ČR, v. v. i. vyhlašuje v souladu se zákonem č. 283/1992 Sb. o Akademii věd České republiky, ve znění zákona č. 420/2005 Sb. a Stanov AV ČR výběrové řízení na pozici Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Climatology.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences, geophysics, physical geography, physics, or other relevant disciplines, received in 2018 or later
• Demonstrated publication activity
• Experience in the relevant research field
• Active knowledge of the English language

The preferred topics include studies of:

• innovative approaches to studies of climate extremes, including their relationships to atmospheric circulation in changing climate
• uncertainties of climate change projections and scenarios
• novel approaches to study atmospheric circulation and its effects on surface climate conditions
• algorithm for distinguishing the origin of precipitation (convective, stratiform)
• use of radar data in climatology
• trends in short-term atmospheric variability
