Junior Researcher: Organic Chemistry

Do you have an interest in understanding complex molecular interactions? Are you an experienced organic chemist with a passion for chemical biology? Join our Organic Chemistry team as a Junior Researcher and play a key role in designing and preparing small molecule precursors for various departments.
What will be your responsibilities?
We are successful biotechnology startup with unique products and global ambitions. Our main research and business areas are human molecular diagnostics, life sciences, monoclonal antibodies and small molecule drug discovery. In all these four areas we are bringing unique products to the global market.
We are both research oriented and also successful in business. Our products are based on internal cutting-edge multidisciplinary research. Furthermore, we are actively seeking market opportunities, and we have therefore been the most important developer and manufacturer of COVID-19 PCR diagnostics in the Czech Republic. We are continuing our mission of providing our own products in diverse biotechnological areas.
Even though we started the company just in 2018, we have already grown to over 100 employees. From the beginning, we aim to run long-term, ambitious projects with a global impact. Join our Organic Chemistry team as a Junior Researcher and play a key role in designing and preparing small molecule precursors for various departments.
What will be your responsibilities?
- Design and preparation of small molecule precursors for other departments which will include multistep synthesis (exemplified by kinase inhibitors, steroid structures, peptides, sugar chemistry etc.).
- Chemical biology will be also large part of the job (conjugation to proteins, oligonucleotides and subsequent purification of the conjugates and their characterization).
- All work will be done in close collaboration with the head of chemistry.
- You finished Master’s or Ph D degree in organic chemistry or related fields.
- You have at least several years of laboratory work (time of Ph D studies is counted).
- You have experience with anhydrous conditions reactions.
- Knowledge of purification methods such as column chromatography, TLC, HPLC or GPC and LC-MS analysis is highly desirable.
- You have basic knowledge of NMR analysis.
- You are a self-motivated professional with a positive attitude and team spirit, willing to work in multiple roles (working both as a researcher as well as a production specialist).
- Full-time employment contract with the place of work in Vestec near Prague.
