Senior Scala Developer – Pioneering Fintech Solutions

Based in the Czech Republic, you will be a key player in our innovative development squad, where cutting-edge technologies meet agile methodologies to deliver robust, high-quality solutions. As a Senior Scala Developer, you’ll work in close collaboration with a cross-functional team to build state-of-the-art online payment systems. Your focus will be on back-end development, where your expertise will drive the creation of scalable, secure, and efficient payment solutions that meet the needs of our diverse global customer base.
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience with Scala in a production environment.
Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and containerized solutions.
Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Familiarity with Agile and Dev Ops methodologies.
A passion for solving complex problems and delivering innovative solutions in the fintech space.

What you'll be doing:
- Be a first-line motivational coder
- Propose, defend, and implement the best design patterns
- Mentor other team members
- Design and implement cloud-based payment services with Scala and associated technologies.
- Develop and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance back-end systems.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and front-end developers to create seamless user experiences.
- Ensure continuous improvement by writing clean, testable code and conducting thorough code reviews.
- Work with container-based environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to enhance deployment processes.
Skills, qualifictations and experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Scala (or equivalent expertise in Java/Kotlin), demonstrating a deep understanding of functional programming principles.
- Strong architectural design skills, with a knack for creating scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Proven experience with Spring Boot, capable of building robust and efficient applications.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision while maintaining a strategic view of the overall objectives.
- Cloud expertise with AWS or other major cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), enabling scalable and secure deployments.
- Proficiency with the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, etc.), ensuring effective project management and collaboration.
- Experience in reactive programming, crafting responsive and resilient applications.
