This position is part of our Global Internship Program, allowing new talents to show themselves, improve, and thrive with our support. It is an on-site paid internship in Brno in The Czech Republic. The length is limited – for 3 months, from the 1st of July 2024 until the 30th of September 2024, for full-time employment – 40 hours per week. This internship cannot be done remotely.
We work in hybrid mode 3+2, at least 3 days at the office and 2 days at the home office.
The location of our office is Holandská 873/6, Brno – Štýřice, 639 00.

Job Overview:
There are a lot of cloud-based applications that can be leveraged to achieve the best productivity for running a business. Companies can also have their own applications and tools developed and used internally. In Solar Winds, it is the Business Applications team responsible for such in-house applications and tools that are essential for our internal teams to do their job efficiently. These business applications are often integrated with 3rd party services, naming Net Suite, Salesforce, and Azure as some of them.
Your Role:

• Work on assigned tickets from various areas - bug fixing, automation, new functionality
• Have support from our more experienced colleagues so you can learn from them
• Participate in code reviews and debugging including testing your changes
• Communicate with other members of your team (developers, QAs, Scrum Masters, Product Owners) and even outside (Dev Ops, users, …)
• Attend team's sync meetings to share updates from your side

Your Impact:

• Primary responsibility will be developing well-designed and tested code. Your buddy – another developer from your team – will help you to get into our processes, and best practices and explain the codebase of applications you will be working on.
• Your tasks will start with understanding business requirements and translating them into smart and elegant technical design with our architects resulting in robust and sustainable code.
• The combination of enhancing various aspects (business logic, cloud infrastructure services, database) of existing applications and tools coupled with working on high-value new projects keeps the job exciting and dynamic.
• You will be a member of the self-organized engineering team (developers, testers, architects, managers) working according to the agile principles using Scrum.
• Our primary technology is .NET so you will use mainly Microsoft Visual Studio as an IDE. You will write your backend code in C#, ASP.NET MVC, and SQL. The frontend part uses HTML5, CSS3, and Java Script. Our solutions are connected via Web Services using mainly REST.
• The tools we use on a daily basis are Git Hub, JIRA, and Confluence.

Your Experience:

• Should have some experience with software development – home or school projects using C#.NET.
• Nice to have some experience with MS SQL (or SQL in general) and web development (ASP.NET MVC, REST, Azure, frontend technologies), Angular.
• Also, because you are reading this job description in English, you need to understand written and verbal English.
