Director, IT Categories in Corporate Procurement

Do you want to define the future for global category management in the IT category and drive a team of 10 super talented and dedicated employees all focus on driving world class procurement in the IT category, then join us in transforming how we buy IT in Novo Nordisk! We are looking for a new Director to head up a team of category managers for all IT related categories. You have a strong foundation in global category management, strategy development/execution and people leadership and will be a key player in our future value delivery journey.

You will report to the Vice President of Digital, Commercial & Travel in Corporate Procurement The position is based in Novo Nordisk HQ in Denmark.

Main responsibilities in the role:

Define and execute global category strategies, plans, and projects across IT categories fully aligned with business requirements
Lead the development of category managers towards global category excellence, fostering collaboration and an enterprise mindset within the team
Act as the preferred procurement business partner for key stakeholders across Novo Nordisk Global IT organisation and the core business globally, contributing to IT vendor-enabled strategy
Strengthen key stakeholder relationships, ensuring appropriate Corporate Procurement involvement in the execution of the vendor-enabled IT strategy
Build and continuously evolve the IT category team to meet the evolving needs of Novo Nordisk
Support and manage task prioritization and execution across category teams, Global Business Support, and line of business, ensuring appropriate task allocation

Qualifications
We are looking for a dynamic individual with minimum 5 years of strategic procurement/sourcing and category management experience. International experience in a global organization is preferred, with expertise in developing impactful procurement/sourcing strategies and negotiation.

Throughout your career you have built strong leadership skills, and you are able to successfully coach and develop people to drive a high performing team.

As a person, you have strong interpersonal skills, show engagement and authenticity. You are able to engage with and influence stakeholders at all levels, you have a talent for connecting the dots, strong structured problem solving skills and seeing the bigger picture. Your strong interpersonal skills assist you in creating trustful relationships that enables you to challenge executive leaders. You are known as an ambitious person whose primary driver is to make a difference. You see opportunities and you are eager to voice your ideas.

About the Department
Corporate Procurement is Novo Nordisk’s centre of excellence for category strategies, supplier agreements, and purchasing processes. The Corporate Procurement department builds strategies and executes improvement projects to optimize the global indirect spend of more than DKK 50 billion related to Facility Management, R&D activities, marketing services, travel, professional advisory services, and IT. Team size is app. 140 employees in Denmark and 2 indirect reporting teams of app. 150 employees in total in Global Business Services in India.
