About us:
Creative Play Lab (CPL) is at the heart of new product innovations at the LEGO Group. We experiment with emerging technologies, tinker with new tools, band together with new brands and integrate new inventions into the LEGO system of play to create the toys of tomorrow’s world. As an intern in the Play Discovery team, you will learn to use our prototyping tools to get hands on discovering new play experiences from day one. You’ll get to work across our innovation missions to support the teams in ideating, prototyping, problem solving, iterating and testing the toys of the future!

Internship Eligibility:

• You must be an EU citizen to apply for this opportunity
• Currently enrolled in full time education in an art, design or engineering discipline
• Available to move to / commute to Billund, Denmark for the duration of the internship
• Free for the entire internship period from February 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025
• Speak English to at least a conversational / intermediate level
• You are ideas led, and love nothing more than to come up with original concepts AND
• Experience with at least some of the following disciplines:
  • Concept art & Design sensibilities
  • 3D visualization software (C4D, Blender)
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Game Engines and VR (Unreal/ Unity)
  • LEGO model building
  • Creative AI applications
  • Film-making/ animation
  • Presentation software (Keynote etc)
  • Storytelling

Responsibilities:
You’re here to learn from the best so we appreciate that there will be a lot of new things for you to get familiar with. We want you to bring all your energy, enthusiasm and experiences to work every day so we can achieve amazing things together while you learn along the way!

• Push the boundaries of play by imagining new universes, creating compelling characters and help construct new prototypes to bring concepts to life
• Research trends and themes around new ways to Play
• Explore new possibilities for ideation using new technologies
• Research innovative technologies, materials and toys to discover new possibilities within physical and digital play
• Communicate ideas through a range of media e.g. sketches, models, digital mockups, 3D prints etc.
• Create new LEGO elements and be resourceful using every tool at your disposal to hack, build and learn every day
• Explore new play opportunities by testing physical / digital prototypes to gather feedback and iterate on ideas
• Collaborate with a team of experienced designers, developers, engineers, artists and researchers to drive our innovation missions forward
• Help craft presentations, visualizations and prototypes and manage database of ideas
