As Project Director for our Offshore Wind Environment Segment, you’ll lead a portfolio of high-impact projects from concept to completion, ensuring excellence in quality, timeline management, and budget control. This role is central to our mission of advancing environmental sustainability in offshore wind, with projects that include advanced monitoring solutions - encompassing hardware, equipment, and software - that go beyond standard consultancy work. Project Portfolio Management

• Oversee project delivery, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and quality (budget approver for assigned portfolio)
• Manage project portfolio risks and opportunities
• Coordinate and control the assigned project portfolio, ensuring compliance with legal, contractual, and commercial standards
• Support PMs to achieve project targets and ensure resource management in line with staffing principles
• Implement proper procedures and structures for project execution within the portfolio
• Report progress and flag issues promptly to the Operational Excellence (OE) Director
• Ensure QMS compliance and participate in audits
• Hold regular review meetings for large, complex, or high-risk projects, aligned with OE Director expectations
• Act as a project manager to set standards in execution
• Ensure delivery across commercial and research projects
• Support Project Managers in resource allocation, prioritization, and overall business excellence

Opportunities

• Have an overview of and an eye for new project opportunities
• Participate in bid decision, solution, and price strategy for projects within all level Lo A
• Review contracts and NDA’s and participate in negotiations
• Lead proposal development and negotiate contracts with the legal team

Operational Excellence

• Follow, participate and contribute to DHI Operational Excellence
• Review and approve proposals and project deliverables. Ensure support as necessary by relevant experts
• Develop strategic plans regarding projects in collaboration with the Manager(s) of the Segment and Teams
• Improve resource management at DHI by observing staffing principles and thereby securing chargeability

Communication and Development

• Assess complex projects and contribute to advice and communicate regarding these to relevant colleagues
• Coach Project Managers in projects, proposals and contribute to creating good cooperation
• Contribute actively to strategic development and operational efficiency for the segment opportunities and projects
• Contribute to making DHI an attractive and developing workplace for employees

The ideal candidate has the following profile:

• MSc/Ph D degree within engineering or environmental studies, covering one or more fields of expertise in the department, combined with 10-15 years of relevant professional experience
• Strong leadership skills to motivate, coach and develop teams for high performance
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Outgoing personality with good sales skills and commercial mindset
• Ability to develop customer solutions and services in collaboration with clients
• Project management and portfolio management skills, including risk management
• Legal mindset and ability to review contracts
• Ability to plan, implement, monitor and follow-up on project related activities
