The position
As Advanced Design Engineer for Secondary Packaging, you will be responsible for impacting the innovation taking place in the maintenance projects and the chosen design solutions, bringing innovation and better practise to our methods, techniques and approaches.
You will primarily work with marketed products, but you will also be involved in product design transfer from development to maintenance further to Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO´s) and internal process optimisation projects.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Responding to inquiries from stakeholders with your design expertise to safeguard the product functionality.
- Secondary Packaging product development and maintenance.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM), material selection as well as specification and design of function prototypes.
- Rolling-out pack design and specification to other productions sites/countries.
- Evaluating customer complaints and apply updates to specification if required.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we imagine you have:
- Master’s degree or equivalent withing engineering or any other relevant field.
- Senior experience working with secondary packaging in a highly regulated industry, such as medical devices, pharmaceutical, automotive, aerospace or food industry.
- Good understanding of packaging material.
- Experience with technical drawings and construction as well as using computer-aided design software (CAD and/or IMPACT).
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
It would be considered as a plus if you are familiar with printing/converting.
As a person, you are innovative, possess good interpersonal skills, a collaborative attitude and ability to impact the support to marketed products. You have a high degree of flexibility and enjoy when tasks are varied, and the priority of projects or tasks could change. You are good at keeping an overview of your tasks, are analytical and systematic. Last but not least, you possess excellent communication skills.
About the department
You will be part of Sec Pack Product Maintenance, a team of dedicated and highly competent colleagues and be working at the crossroad between Devices & Delivery Solutions (R&D), Quality and Production.
The department is supporting the entire range of Novo Nordisk secondary packaging products, and the technical product knowledge is anchored here. The department is responsible for the secondary packaging of the marketed products. We own and maintain specifications and material requirement for Novo Nordisk secondary packaging.
