Plan started working in Egypt in 1981 and has a presence in ten of the 27 governorates in which the country including Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Beheira, Kalyoubia, Damietta, Qena, Assuit, Aswan, and Sohag. Plan international Egypt implements programmes designed to enable communities to improve the lives of the most marginalised children and their families. Plan Egypt’s Country Strategy focuses on five strategic objectives.
Through a five-interconnected, gender transformative and context-fit country objectives, PIE intends along with the various stakeholders at all levels to continue delivering positive and transformative changes so that “Children, especially girls, and young people grow up in an enabling environment, realizing their rights and contributing in both development and humanitarian settings as active agents of change” .

Driven by the overall purpose of PII and anchored on Plan International core values, bolder commitment to gender transformation and feminist leadership, program quality and influencing and a more vibrant and efficient operating model.

Purpose:
The purpose of the role is to work closely with the Area Manager and provide the support needed in overseeing the sponsorship program and the projects being implemented in the respective Area.

Management Scope, Reporting Lines, Key Relationships
SCOPE
The post holder will report to the Area Manager and support in leading the program implementation in his/her respective area. He/she will oversee the sponsorship program and the implementation of some projects and provides the support needed to ensure effective program delivery, knowledge management & learning. He/she will be responsible for the timely and quality delivery of Programs implemented in respective Area. If needed, the post holder may act as project manager for some projects.

Direct reports :
Area Sponsorship Program Coordinator and Projects’ coordinators of some projects located in his/her area. Also, the multilocation projects whose projects’ officers are located in this respective area will be dotted line to the post holder.
Key relationships

Internal:
Area Managers and Program Implementation team (high contact).
Other respective departments at area level and country office level (high contact).

External:
Engagement with national offices/donor representatives through field visits’ activities.
Respective governmental authorities to coordinate the implementation of area projects’ activities.
Respective stakeholders to ensure their best engagement in the projects.
Program Managers at other INGOs to share best practices and to identify opportunities for collaboration e.g. advocacy, research, etc.
