PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
United Planet’s Marketing & Communications Specialist will focus upon the strategic growth of the organization by driving enrollment and revenue generation through marketing, communications, community engagement, outreach, partnership development, and fundraising.
Key Responsibilities:

• Crafting Innovative Social Media Strategies: The independent contractor's expertise will be instrumental in developing and overseeing the organization's social media strategy to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and drive engagement across platforms.
• Enhancing Online Presence: Playing a vital role in maintaining and strengthening the organization's online presence, including website management, SEO optimization, and content creation to enhance visibility and conversion rates.
• Supporting Public Relations Efforts: The independent contractor's assistance in writing press releases, pitching to journalists or media outlets, and nurturing positive media relations will amplify the organization's brand reach and reputation.
• Engaging with the Community and Alumni: The independent contractor will be involved in managing engagement with the organization's alumni and wider community, fostering relationships and creating initiatives to enhance connection and involvement.
• Managing Partnerships: Efforts in maintaining existing partnerships and forging new ones will be key in driving collaborative opportunities and expanding the organization's network.
• Developing Marketing Materials: The independent contractor will contribute to the creation and updating of marketing collateral for various events, ensuring materials are compelling and reflect the organization's brand identity.
• Website Maintenance: Skills in website management, particularly with platforms like Wordpress and Wix, will be essential in ensuring the organization's online presence remains current and impactful.
• Content Writing and Editing: The independent contractor will be responsible for writing or editing engaging and informative content such as blog posts, scripts, newsletters, brochures, flyers or any form of written content, showcasing expertise and attracting and engaging the target audience.
• Supporting Fundraising Initiatives: Assistance in fundraising campaigns will help the organization achieve its financial goals, leveraging marketing expertise to drive successful initiatives.
• Staying Informed on Industry Trends: Encouragement to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying insights to enhance marketing strategies and stay ahead of the curve.
• Monitoring Competitor Activities: The independent contractor's keen eye for detail will be valuable in monitoring competitor activities and market dynamics, allowing identification of potential threats and opportunities proactively.
• Additional Marketing Responsibilities: The independent contractor will also have the opportunity to contribute to various other marketing activities as assigned by the Marketing & Communications Manager, playing a crucial role in the organization's overall success.

Requirements:

• Up to two years of experience in driving strategic growth through outreach, community engagement, marketing, communications, or fundraising.
• At least a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related degree.
• Basic video editing and design skills.
• Passion for our mission to help unite every person on the planet.
• Self-starters who enjoy having room to create.
• Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the educational, travel, or youth market.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and excitement to take on challenges.
• Ability to work with teams supporting them to achieve team and organizational goals.
• Fluency in English.

Location:
Global candidates are welcome, especially in the EMEA region. We are looking for the right candidate regardless of location. This is a fully remote role with the availability to attend morning meetings in EST time zone.
