Senior Legal Counsel
Purpose of the Job
Represent Coptic Orphans in litigations and other legal proceedings, draw up legal documents and advise internal clients on legal transactions. Senior Legal Counsel will play pivotal role in safeguarding the organization's legal interests and ensure compliance with local laws.

Represent Coptic Orphans in litigations and other legal proceedings, draw up legal documents and advise internal clients on legal transactions. Senior Legal Counsel will play pivotal role in safeguarding the organization's legal interests and ensure compliance with local laws.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Represent Coptic Orphans interest in litigation and legal proceedings.
- Review, draft and finalize contracts and vendor agreements in both English & Arabic.
- Organize, maintain, and audit legal documents in a paper and electronic filing system.
- Prepare legal correspondence and other documents.
- Advise and participate in high volume contract negotiations.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Review and approve government fillings for necessary registrations with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and other government entities.
- Prepare and for and represent Coptic Orphans in court appearances in all jurisdictions of the Egyptian Legal System
- Assist with and resolve employment law disputes and conducting investigations.
- Gather and analyze statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents and other data relevant to the organization.
- Write well-written legal memos in English to senior management regarding Egyptian law and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as necessary.
- Minimum of 7 years of collective attorney experience in any jurisdiction and a master's degree in law or 5 years of experience and an international Juris doctor.
- Must be fully registered and licensed to practice law in Egypt.
- Experience working in international law or extensive understanding for Egyptian law
- Understanding of applicable NGO Laws, and procedures of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
- Proficient in using Microsoft office applications.
- Proficient in Both English & Arabic.
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to follow procedure, identify and recommend improvements to procedure.
- Ability to craft and present compelling arguments to external parties.
- Strong research skills with high level of attention to details.
- Ability to proactively identify potential problems and recommend preventative measures
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Travel and Working requirements
- Limited to office work environment; sitting, typing, walking and occasional lifting of boxes and luggage.
- Travel: Domestic (nation-wide) travel is required, with occasional short-notice trips.
