What is the job like, really?

The core focus of this role is to manage our cloud-based IT infrastructure, ensuring our systems operate both efficiently and securely. You get to work closely with an awesome Platform Engineering team of 15 professionals, as well as cross-functional teams, to ensure the seamless integration and effectiveness of our cloud solutions. Here’s a more detailed snapshot of your key responsibilities:
️ Platform Management: Take ownership of our public cloud infrastructure, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
️ System Maintenance: Handle tasks such as configuration, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting to keep our cloud platforms operating at peak efficiency.
️ Upgrades and Migrations: Lead the planning and execution of system upgrades, patches, and migrations to keep our platforms up-to-date and compliant with industry standards.
️ Security Measures: Implement security measures and access controls to protect our systems from threats.
️ Performance Optimization: Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks to provide users with a seamless experience.
️ Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to minimize business impact in case of system failures.

️ Participation in On-Call Rotation: Be a part of a 24/7/365 on-call rotation, providing coverage for our platform services.

What are we looking for?

We don’t expect you to be a unicorn, but the more you know about the following, the better:
Proven experience in public cloud infrastructure management and monitoring solutions, with extensive knowledge in multiple cloud platforms, particularly Azure and AWS. Certifications in these platforms are highly appreciated
Strong expertise in system administration, upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting in a cloud environment.
Knowledge of Kubernetes and experience with containerized environments.

And some soft skills, too:
Great communication and interpersonal skills. To ensure effective communication, including with Finnish-speaking customers, proficiency in both English and Finnish is essential for many of our customer projects.
Collaborative team player.
Innovative problem-solving skills.
