We are seeking a Director, Accounting to lead our accounting teams across Sweden, Finland, Germany, and in the area of general accounting as part of our Global Business Services (GBS). The ideal candidate will manage the transition from a centralized to a decentralized finance function, fostering a culture of autonomy, efficiency, and accountability. This role requires a strategic leader adept at networking, influencing and ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage finance teams across multiple countries, ensuring high standards of financial management and reporting
- Champion the development and execution of Global Business Services (GBS) strategies to enhance operational efficiency and service quality
- Promote a culture of innovation, creativity, and accountability, empowering teams to adapt to changing environments and make decisions autonomously
- Responsible for ensuring that all finance team members have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties effectively
- Delegate responsibilities to our teams, streamlining processes to reduce bottlenecks and enhance efficiency
- Maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders and manage external communications with auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies
- Drive digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives in accounting processes and systems
- Network effectively within Stora Enso's other accounting teams, ensuring alignment and coherence
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior accounting role within a multinational corporation
- Demonstrated ability to manage a transition from a centralized to a decentralized organizational structure
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse and geographically dispersed teams
- Thorough understanding of general accounting principles and processes
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and change management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, proficient in English
- Skilled in navigating decentralized models, networking, and influencing across broader accounting teams

- University degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
