Wärtsilä Marine Power Solutions RDE, Automation & Controls is seeking an embedded software expert. We are now looking for an embedded Linux Expert to develop the embedded control system software and services for our new UNIC Next Generation automation system. This system will be used extensively in Wärtsilä products and requires a long lifetime approach as the product's lifetime is commonly 20 to 30 years. Position information:
The location for this position is Vaasa or Turku, Finland. We also offer possibilities for partial remote work.
Your typical day will include:
- Design, implementation and testing of software components in our new automation system services layer starting from modelling with model-based system design
- Working with our electronics suppliers and defining requirements for software
- Master's or bachelor's degree in Automation, Process Engineering, Computer Science or similar

Linux embedded software design, implementation and verification of:
- Embedded design modelling with MBSE
- Driver development
- Automatic test definition, development and testing with robot framework
- Linux development and roadmap knowledge
- Knowledge in agile development practises Dev Ops, especially continuous integration and release with Dev Ops, CI/DC pipeline and Scaled Agile Framework (Safe)
- We wish that you have previous experience in basic electronic design competence such as Erhernet, I/O, ARM CPU architecture and FPGA architecture
- Good teamwork and communication skills are essential
- Fluency in verbal and written English, our everyday work language is mainly English
