Head of Workplace Services

We are looking for a Head of Workplace Services to lead Wärtsilä’s IT workplace services team reporting to Director, ICT Services. The team is responsible for development and operations of Wärtsilä’s global IT workplace services. This includes the whole lifecycle of digital workplace services: devices, Microsoft 365 solutions, document management solutions, several applications and security. The position is within ICT Services unit that is responsible for workplace services, SIAM, network infrastructure and capacity services as well as Area IM organization. You will also work closely with other teams in Information Management, cyber security, procurement and other key business stakeholders.
To qualify for the job, you need to be ambitious and have extensive experience and track record in managing end-user IT services in workplace and other relevant areas such as infra operations, cloud platforms and enterprise architecture. In addition, you have a clear vision for the future of digital workspace and the ability to communicate the vision to Wärtsilä top management in an attractive manner.
You are technology savvy but commercially and end-user driven, focusing always on the value to business and end-user experience. You have a natural interest towards the latest technologies and always seeking better ways to support business and stakeholders. You are energetic, good with people and a fun person to work with.
Responsibilities

• Leadership: Lead an international team of 10-15 professionals accountable for Wärtsilä’s global digital IT workplace services.
• Digital workplace service ownership: Own Wärtsilä’s digital workplace services. With high end-user focus and understanding of their needs, leverage latest technologies to build and deliver world-class end-user experience. Communicate the services clearly to end-users translating technical terms into easy-to-understand, user-friendly language.
• Service management: Develop and deliver, together with our partners, effective IT services to fulfill user and business requirements. Implement Wärtsilä service management processes to the service area. Drive fast resolution of incidents and requests in your service area.
• Operational Process & KPI Management: Develop and oversee internal and cross-team processes, establishing KPIs to ensure efficient management of day-to-day operations. Systematically eliminate waste in end-to-end service processes.
• Vendor and contract management: Act as the primary relationship owner for Microsoft and other vendors in your area, leading contract negotiations and managing the partnership to maximize value for the organization.
• Financial Management: Create, manage, and monitor the team’s budget, ensuring financial discipline and active tracking of expenditures including efficient SW licence management.
• Project & Initiative Oversight: Oversee the delivery of projects, initiatives, and continuous improvements
• Technology Trend & Best Practice Adoption: Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in modern workplace solutions. Support the team in evaluating and implementing new technologies that align with the organization’s needs.
• Stakeholder & Vendor Relationship Management: Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.

Qualifications

• Education: B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent from relevant area
• Track record in leading end-user centric IT service organization
• Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in leading technical teams within IT technology, IT operations or architecture.
• Proven track record in financial management of IT services.
• Commercial understanding and the experience in managing vendor relationships and negotiating complex contracts.
• Data-driven leadership style
• Solid skills around Microsoft technologies (OS, SCCM, security, applications, O365 and AD/AAD) and unified communications solutions
• Fluent communication and presentation skills in English
• Future orientation: strategical mindset and ability to create and execute tactical plans, roadmaps, business analysis and predictions
• Experience of working in cross functional, international teams
• Can do attitude
