Wärtsilä Marine Power Solutions RDE, Automation & Controls is now looking for a product owner to join our product owner team. We in A&C develop and maintain embedded engine control systems for all Wärtsilä engines. Our product owner team has end-to-end responsibility for new innovations and life cycle management of our engine control system.
This position is a temporary parental leave replacement for 12 months and can be considered as a job rotation.
Location for this position is Vaasa, Finland but also Helsinki and Turku are negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the development of products related to engine control system. You’ll be working as a part of professional product owner team with diverse expertise. Your responsibilities will include
- Participate in refining control system roadmap together with product management and product owner team
- Refining backlog of automation and controls agile teams
- Close communication and negotiation with suppliers and stakeholders regarding ongoing, upcoming, and past development initiatives.
- Participation in daily meetings with agile team
- Support agile team by setting priority for development items, refining stakeholder requirements together with team, approving team deliverables etc.
Requirements for the position:
- Product owner or product management experience is mandatory
- Skills to build understanding in how customers operate our products and the customers’ businesses
- Good communication and presentation skills for different kind of audience
- Curiosity to learn new things and continuously improve way of working
Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:
- Suitable candidate shall have master's degree in Automation, Process engineering, Computer Science or similar
- Knowledge in agile development practises Skills in MBSE to document product
