As a Senior Backend Engineer with a focus on architectural resiliency, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems remain robust, secure, and adaptable in a rapidly evolving tech environment. This role will involve working on the backbone of our backend infrastructure, addressing scalability, and enabling seamless integration with our microservices architecture. Your responsibilities will cover the entire software lifecycle, from conceptual design and implementation to performance optimization and long-term resiliency planning.
You’ll work alongside the Architecture Community to ensure technology governance standards are met and bring a fresh perspective to continuously improve our backend services. Key responsibilities:
Architectural resiliency: Drive the design and implementation of resilient backend systems, focusing on scalability, performance, and fault tolerance.
System modernization: Lead the adoption of modern architecture frameworks, enabling smooth transitions from legacy systems where needed.
Collaboration across functions: Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, quality engineers, and product managers, to ensure backend architecture meets operational and business needs.
Technology governance and documentation: Document architectural designs, system components, and guidelines to support both immediate needs and long-term development.
Operational excellence: Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines, implement end-to-end monitoring, and improve system performance and security practices.

What we’re looking for

• Technical expertise in resilient architecture: You bring hands-on experience in backend software development and architectural design, with a focus on resiliency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. You have:
  • A minimum of 5+ years working in backend software development and architecture
  • A strong foundation in creating resilient microservices and experience in cloud platforms like AWS or similar.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Java, Python, or Node JS).
  • Familiarity with tools like AWS Cloud Formation for infrastructure as code.

• CI/CD and Dev Ops proficiency: You are comfortable building and managing CI/CD pipelines, automating tests, and implementing solutions for efficient software delivery.
• Collaboration and leadership: You enjoy guiding teams towards best practices in software resiliency, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and mentoring others to foster continuous improvement.
• Innovation and problem-solving mindset: You bring an experimental and improvement-driven approach to your work, embracing opportunities to optimize processes and solve complex challenges.
• Effective communication and adaptability: With professional proficiency in English, you’re able to work effectively in a multicultural and globally distributed environment.

Technical stack
You’ll be primarily working with AWS cloud services and backend frameworks such as Java, Python, and Node JS. Familiarity with additional technologies related to API management and data resiliency is beneficial, as you’ll contribute to system stability and scaling across diverse domains.
