We’re looking for an experienced and technically skilled Head of Security to lead the security vision and drive strategic security initiatives within our Technology function. In this role, you’ll be accountable for managing security risks across the Technology function, defining security strategy, and overseeing security management practices. You’ll set the direction for security, focusing on high-level planning and collaboration rather than direct hands-on implementation, while ensuring our security approach aligns with the evolving needs of our CISO office and Technology teams.
Working closely with the CISO office and relevant stakeholders, you’ll translate compliance and security roadmaps (e.g., ISO27001, SOC2, and other regulatory standards) into actionable strategies that support secure development and product integrity. You’ll establish a comprehensive security management framework that spans risk assessment, project leadership in security, and a culture of security responsibility shared across the Technology function. You’ll be part of a small team of security professionals working in a hybrid setup (in Helsinki area), typically meeting in the office once a week.

You’ll shape a proactive security culture, where security is a mindset integrated into every stage of our product lifecycle. As a bridge between the CISO office and Technology teams, you’ll make compliance clear and actionable while building the frameworks for secure development practices. Your leadership will empower teams to innovate confidently, knowing that security is embedded into every aspect of their work. - Security leadership: As the primary authority for security within Technology, you’ll define and drive strategic direction, ensuring alignment with CISO policies. Your focus will be on building a security-first culture across the Technology function, supporting teams with the knowledge to prioritize security in each phase of development, and promoting security as an enabler rather than a constraint.
- Compliance and strategy translation: Convert broad compliance requirements (such as ISO27001 and SOC2) into streamlined, practical guidance for our teams. This role requires you to make regulatory standards accessible and implementable, ensuring that compliance is both achievable and embedded naturally into our workflows.
- Security management and project leadership: Oversee security management practices, focusing on planning and strategic guidance rather than hands-on tasks. You’ll lead security initiatives that define best practices and set up the frameworks for secure coding, threat modeling, and risk management that our Technology teams can rely on.
- Risk management: You’ll be accountable for identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks within Technology, building a resilient foundation. This includes establishing the processes for regular security reviews, audits, and proactive threat identification, ensuring a robust response to any potential vulnerabilities in our systems.
- Cross-functional collaboration and culture-building: Working closely with product management, engineering, and operations, you’ll embed security considerations across the product lifecycle. Through collaboration, training, and workshops, you’ll help cultivate a security-aware culture across the Technology function, making security a shared priority.
- Incident oversight and monitoring strategy: Security incidents require effective oversight and strategic response planning. In this role, you’ll oversee our incident response and monitoring strategies, focusing on managing the processes for detection and rapid response rather than executing the hands-on tasks. You’ll ensure that teams have the tools and systems in place to detect vulnerabilities early and act effectively.

What we’re looking for
We're looking for someone with a solid background in security, though we don’t require experience specifically in the consumer cybersecurity industry. We appreciate and value fresh perspectives and skills from diverse industries.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in software security, with a deep understanding of secure development practices, risk management, and security compliance frameworks.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of security architecture, cryptography, secure coding, penetration testing, and vulnerability management. Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, DAST/SAST.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with security standards such as ISO27001, GDPR, SOC 2, and others. Experience translating these requirements into technical practices.
- Leadership: Proven experience leading security initiatives and driving security practices within a software development or R&D environment.
- Collaboration Skills: Strong communication skills, able to effectively work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a plus.
