Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Procurement Specialist to join our world-class team in Illkirch-Graffenstaden, France. As a Third Party (TP) Buyer, your main responsibility will be to manage the placement of orders and ensure accurate confirmation dates for a specific group of suppliers, with a particular focus on Third Party products. Your role will be vital in maintaining excellent order management and delivery performance, meeting departmental performance goals, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Raising and managing Purchase Orders for TP products, ensuring accurate confirmed dates and updating the system to reflect supplier order acknowledgments
  • Taking ownership of suppliers allocated to you and resolving any queries regarding price, item details, transportation, or logistics
  • Completing regular reports and tasks to support department goals and targets
  • Managing backorders and trade compliance issues related to imports
  • Handling all issues linked to transport, quality, quantity, and address of delivery to find acceptable solutions for customers and Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.
  • Embracing and participating in process improvement initiatives to identify improvements and cost savings
  • Acting in accordance with company policies and values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
A successful candidate for this role will possess relevant experience or hold a Bachelor's Degree in a related area. Essential qualifications include proven abilities in customer service or supplier negotiation, as well as strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Cognos. The ability to thrive under strict deadlines, effectively communicate, and work independently or collaboratively as part of a team is critically important. Fluency in both Spanish and English is a prerequisite for this position.
