Who We Serve
Pacific Clinics serves children, transitional age youth, families, adults, and older adults. We offer a full range of mental and behavioral health services, foster care and social services, housing, continuing adult education and early childhood education programs to Medi-Cal eligible individuals and families throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Orange, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, Stanislaus, Stockton, Tulare and Ventura Counties.

  • Compensation for this role pays up to $47.85 per hour. Compensation will vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and geographic location. The salary range may vary if you reside in a different location or state than the location posted.

About our Program: Uplift Wraparound: is a Pacific Clinics' program that provides wraparound services for children having behavioral issues that would otherwise need residential or a higher level of care. A family centered team approach to stabilize the child in the least restrictive environment is provided.
Schedule: Flexible 9am-5pm
JOB SUMMARY
Works within the vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency. Provides support to youth receiving services to ensure that the youth’s voice is heard throughout all phases of treatment. Uses personal life experience to establish credibility and infuse hope for a better future., Demonstrates unconditional acceptance, and models life skills. The Youth Partner participates in program and community meetings to maximize youth voice and involvement throughout the service delivery process.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Demonstrates mastery of all Youth Partner job description responsibilities and duties.
  • Models at an advanced level, strategically utilizes personal life experience to demonstrate that recovery and resilience is possible for youth served by the program.
  • Provides a youth’s perspective in a variety of internal and external settings (i.e., stakeholder meetings, external committees, community team, etc.)
  • Models at an advanced level skills to engage youth and families in ways that demonstrates understanding of the youth and family perspective and creates a positive connection and support through the service delivery experience.
  • Models at an advanced level for others non-judgmental, culturally relevant support to youth, parents, and caregivers.
  • Models and coaches' staff on how to encourage and support youth with engaging in their own treatment planning, CFT's and participation in school and/or community activities.
  • Models and coaches at an advanced level positive, constructive attitudes and behaviors in managing different situations in school, work, and living situations to youth.
  • Serves as an expert consultant on how to mentor, coach and teach independent living and self-advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated expert skills to support, coordinate youth connection and engagement with community resources and natural supports.
  • Facilitates groups (i.e., Leads/co-leads training/workshop(s) for youth including the Youth Advisory Board pertaining to youth empowerment, advancement in their recovery and their community.
  • Demonstrates advanced level conflict resolution skills.
  • Serves as an expert consultant and support with providing a youth perspective in agency meetings, committees, and project implementation workgroups to increase a team’s awareness and understanding of a youth’s perspective.
  • Performs other responsibilities, as assigned, to support specific department/business needs.
  • Explains to other staff how to explore, identify, and re-establish (if needed) a natural support system. Identifies and links youth with community connections and resources.
  • Be a part of the hiring team by participating in the hiring process and new staff orientations.
  • Assists program leadership with coaching and mentoring Youth Partner I /Peer Advocates in understanding job duties, healthy boundaries, and roles on teams.
  • Document all services in accordance with Medi-Cal standards. Required to meet applicable productivity documentation requirements within the identified timelines.
  • Participates in clinical supervision and model's healthy boundaries and self-care.
  • Attends additional trainings as part the on-going personal and professional development needed to be successful within the role (as needed).

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years youth/peer partner experience or equivalent.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Able to articulate the perspective of a youth who has experienced complex needs and has received services from the mental health, child welfare or juvenile probation systems. This ability is typically acquired from having personally received intensive mental health, child welfare or probation services (e.g. special education, psychiatric hospitalization, residential treatment, juvenile probation or foster care placement).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience


OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Basic computer word processing skills.
  • Diplomacy in resolving conflicts and integrating divergent perspectives.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in facilitating youth groups or leading youth activities.


HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Speak, read and/or write a language in addition to English.
