About our client
We are working with a highly successful private equity firm, active in the DACH region and increasingly Europe-wide. They invest in midmarket firms, exclusively in the healthcare sector.
With a recently raised new fund, they are now looking to hire an additional senior investment professional into their team, to strengthen the long-term leadership of the firm and to lead the management of new investments from start to finish.
The firm's strong performance is based on deep sector knowledge and a culture that balances hard work with respect for private lives and a spirit of team collaboration and fun.
The firm is based in Tübingen in southern Germany, close to a key centre of healthcare knowledge and expertise. While the partners expect the new hire to travel to targets and portfolio companies, they do not require them to relocate, providing there is a commitment to spend a reasonable initial period of around 6 months working in the main office to integrate into the firm's team and culture. What the job involves
- Sourcing and evaluation of investment opportunities in alignment with the firm's healthcare investment strategy
- Manage entire due diligence process through to investment committee presentation
- Lead value creation work with portfolio companies, working closely with their management teams to drive growth, operational improvements and build towards exits
- Monitor and report on the performance of investments
- Play a leadership role within the firm itself, with input on strategy, future fundraising, team development and more
- Strong academic background; no specific need for scientific studies but high performance at recognised schools and universities
- Background in investment banking, consulting, or a related field as well as experience in a private equity firm
- Proven track record of sourcing, executing, and managing successful private equity investments
- Experience in the healthcare sector is a plus but not a must have
- A down to earth person with exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Our client is more focused on finding the right individual than any particular minimum or maximum level of experience; fit is paramount
- Native-level German and fluent English are required
