Advent Technologies is looking to hire a Financial Controller to join our team in Athens/Greece
Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc. is a U.S. corporation that develops, manufactures, and assembles complete next-generation fuel cell systems, and the critical components for fuel cells in the renewable energy sector.
Our mission is to advance the development and manufacturing of advanced materials, components, and next-generation fuel cell technology to unlock the hydrogen economy. Advent is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, with offices in California, Greece.
As Advent Technology Financial Controller, you will be part of a growing finance team, reporting to the CFO and working closely with the local management team converting data into meaningful and valuable information that drives business decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities

Keeping of proper books of account and financial records in Navision.
Perform Accounts Reconciliations (Customers, Vendors, Bank).
Preparation and submission of VAT
Preparation and analysis of monthly management reports and reporting pack for Group reporting purposes
Preparation of standard and ad–hoc analyses & and reports for the management team and the Group Finance department to facilitate business decisions and actions
Active participation in budgeting and controlling processes, verifying results, and providing insights on key variances vs targets and prior periods
Ongoing analysis of the company’s financial performance and monitoring of performance KPIs
Initiation and implementation of enhanced processes to achieve efficiencies and optimization of resources.
Preparation of the local financial statements under Greek GAAP
Preparation of accounts for external annual audit.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

The key requirements of this role are:

University Degree preferably in Accounting or Finance
MSc in a related subject is an added value for the role
CPA/ACCA/CA or equivalent professional qualifications will be preferred
5+ years of experience as a Financial Controller
Extensive experience in corporate finance and cost management
Extensive experience in ERP systems and relevant accounting software
Experience with Navision software will be considered an advantage.
Good knowledge of processes and BI software
Excellent knowledge of MS Office
Excellent knowledge of the English language
Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions and processes
Results-oriented with the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner by handling multiple priorities and being proactive
Ability to quickly learn various in-house software applications
Aptitude to work with minimal supervision but also be a team player
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and solve problems
Organisation, presentation, and communication skills
Potential team leader, influence and persuasion skills
