ELPEDISON, with its two privately-owned power plants in Thisvi (Voiotia) and Thessaloniki, with a total installed capacity of 820 MW, uses natural gas as fuel and ensures a clean and continuous electricity flow, based on a highly environmentally-friendly power generation process.
We are currently looking for a Software Engineer in our Digital Information division, to design, develop, maintain and test reliable, secure, and scalable .NET-based applications. Working closely with cross-functional teams, they utilize both cloud and on-premises resources to create software solutions aligned with business objectives, while incorporating Dev Ops principles for efficient operations. Participates in the analysis of business requirements, proposes technical and functional improvements and provides required documentation. The Software Engineer, with a solid technical background and good understanding of both cloud and on-premises architecture, ensures the security and scalability of our systems.

What you will do:
- Design, code, and test .NET-based applications using industry standards and best practices. As a full-stack developer, work on both the frontend and backend parts of an application
- Participate in the technical analysis and design of requirements, ensuring that the software solutions align with business needs and objectives. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external resources to understand and translate complex business requirements and functional specifications into software solutions
- Participate in the design and implementation of database schemas. Ensure efficient data storage and access for the developed software systems
- Utilize both cloud and on-premises resources to develop and deploy software applications, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and reliable
- Incorporate Dev Ops principles in day-to-day activities, including CI/CD, and automated testing to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate as 2nd or 3rd Level support in incident or problem management activities with regards to applications developed inhouse
- Implement security best practices in software development to protect data and maintain the integrity of our systems. Design and implement scalable solutions that can handle growth and change over time
- Document software design, code, and testing procedures for reference and for future maintenance work. Conduct regular code reviews to ensure software quality and adherence to standards
- Stay updated with the latest technologies, software development tools, and industry trends to continually improve skills and ensure the company is leveraging the best technologies
- Develop-enhance software solutions to cover requirements relating to company’s core business and supporting applications and digitalization needs. Investigate and recommend technical solutions regarding digitalization tools
What you will need in order to succeed:
- A BSc in Computer science or related field
- At least 3-6 years of relevant working experience as a software developer in Microsoft .NET (full framework or/and .NET Core). Proven experience in both front-end and back-end development, working on the complete software development life cycle. Ability to build scalable and responsive web applications using NET and front-end frameworks
- At least 3-6 years of very good expertise in the following technologies: C#, LINQ, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Relational Databases (SQL Server), Entity Framework, HTML, CSS, Java Script
- At least 2 years of Experience with one or more front-end frameworks like Angular, React and Vue.
- Familiarity with Blazor will be considered a plus
- Familiarity with Dev Ops principles, including continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment pipelines. Familiarity with tools like Git, Jenkins, or Azure Dev Ops
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Advanced computer skills
- XML, HTTP, JSON, REST, XAML, HTML, CSS, Java Script, SOAP
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address complex technical issues
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies, business requirements, and project scopes
- Willingness to stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the software development field
