Due to continuous growth and expansion, Sunlight Group offers a unique opportunity for career development in a fast-growing international organization and is seeking to attract a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Sourcing Manager in the Group Procurement Organization of Sunlight. The role location will be split between our Headquarters in Athens and our main producing location in Glauchau Germany. The Sourcing Manager will lead strategic sourcing initiatives, optimize procurement processes, and manage supplier relationships to support Sunlight Group’s operational and cost-efficiency goals. This role includes negotiating with suppliers to meet targets in cost, quality, and compliance, maximizing cash flow through purchasing strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain a strong, qualified supply base and drive continuous improvements in supplier performance.

Due to continuous growth and expansion, Sunlight Group offers a unique opportunity for career development in a fast-growing international organization and is seeking to attract a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Sourcing Manager in the Group Procurement Organization of Sunlight. The role location will be split between our Headquarters in Athens and our main producing location in Glauchau Germany. The Sourcing Manager will lead strategic sourcing initiatives, optimize procurement processes, and manage supplier relationships to support Sunlight Group’s operational and cost-efficiency goals. This role includes negotiating with suppliers to meet targets in cost, quality, and compliance, maximizing cash flow through purchasing strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain a strong, qualified supply base and drive continuous improvements in supplier performance.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include
- Actively manages strategic and tactical negotiations with suppliers in their respective categories in achieving KPIs related to cost, schedule, quality, and other requirements such as Compliance and ESG reporting.
- Maximizes cash flow as related to purchasing activities, inventory and DPO management.
- Work in partnership with various engineering teams to develop an approved and qualified supply base, develop strategic partnerships that address our needs, and on an ongoing basis, continuously improve supplier performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (i.e., PM, engineering, quality, logistics, etc.) to continuously improve overall system-level landed cost. Influence engineering and architecture teams for new product development sourcing strategies and implementation.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business needs, focusing on supplier selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation.
- Identify cost-saving and value creation opportunities and drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing/Sourcing, Engineering or Business. Master’s degree desirable.
- Minimum 7 years previous experience as a Commodity Manager in the battery or energy industry.
- Experience in a multinational organization is highly desirable.
- Fluency in German and English (both verbal & written) is a must.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of all procurement processes in manufacturing preferably in the battery or energy industry.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in procurement software and tools, such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including international travel, to visit suppliers, attend industry events, and support project requirements.
