Key Accountability or Responsibilities:
Lead design review and construction monitoring of the civil, building, architectural, and structural works by others;

Study and check all civil, building, architectural, and structural drawings by others for discrepancies and resolve the same with reference to the Design Manager;

Monitor civil, structural, building, and architectural construction quality by others and advise to rectify any deficiencies;

Prepare responses to correspondence relating to civil, structural, building, and architecture works by others;

Supervise critical structure elements and foundation works with constant checks on details before the Structural contractor puts the work of each operation in hand;

Witness any critical testing or investigation work relating to civil, building, architectural, and structural works by others;

Prepare and ensure that the items in the defect lists are rectified before site handover from others to allow subcontractors' installation;

Manage the Construction Team for the day-to-day Lining construction works in achieving the project key dates, milestone dates, specified standards of quality, and budget;

Liaise with the main site controller for site storage required for subcontractors' delivery and Lining works;

Allocate human, logistic, and plant resources to meet programme and construction requirements relating to Lining Works;

Execute environmental management plans with reference to the Environmental Officer;

Initiate the preparation of any statutory permit applications required for Lining works;

Liaise with the design teams and provide inputs in the preparation of method statements and temporary works designs relating to Lining works;

Oversee the coordination of the construction activities involving subcontractors and interfacing contractors during the execution stage of the Works;

Prepare reports and submissions for related site activities;

Promote partnering and engage with the EPD, the Supervising Officer, project stakeholders, subcontractors, and Veolia;

Establish emergency teams with appropriate transportation means, equipment and materials to standby and react in the event of typhoons or rainstorms; and

Ensure all construction activities are carried out in strict accordance with all relevant safety requirements and company safety standards

Act as System Assurance of Risk Management Representative of Veolia when appointed by the Project Manager.

Job Experience/Knowledge:
At least 15 years of experience with large municipal and special/hazardous waste landfill construction.

Education & Professional Qualification :
Bachelor degree or above, or equivalent, in a Science or Engineering discipline;

A corporate member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, or the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK), or the Institution of Structural Engineers (UK), or the Institution of Engineers Australia, or the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand, or an institution of equivalent standing is preferred;

Fluent in English and if in Cantonese is an advantage.
