My client, a US-based footwear and apparel corporation, is looking for a Cost Engineer to work under Apparel & Accessories Costing Team which provides predictabilitiy, scalability and benchmarking of manufacturing costs to improve end-to-end margin planning, cost mitigation and sourcing decisions. This role will directly report to Director, Apparel & Accessories Costing.

Duties:
Product Cost Engineering Analysis

Design and enhance product cost review tools (e.g. Product Standard Minutes - SAM/SMV database, Cost Matrices & Calculators) for quick and accurate product cost assessment.

Analyze product costs based on style designs, suppliers’ cost structure and other related cost factors (e.g. Manufacturing efficiency) during product development.

Liaise with suppliers (mostly their costing or IE teams) in case of critical gap (e.g. in SAM/SMV or other related production processes) vs their quotations. Support product development to resolve costing challenges from product perspective.

Update Cost Model

Collect, review and analyze manufacturing information from suppliers or market research (machines, workflow, output/efficiency…) for setting reasonable and sustainable cost benchmarks.

Track and report cost drivers (e.g. SAM/SMV, Efficiency/Productivity). Study impacts and review with key functions including Suppliers, Manufacturing Engineering team and Product development team.

Improve Supplier Cost Performance

Collect and analyze production data. Report Supplier performance through performance Index or other measurements.

Study and share “best practice” to improve cost performance of suppliers. Regularly review and update any related cost benchmarks.

Requirements:
Diploma or above. At least 3 years of experience in garment industry and solid experience on cost management

Certificate of General Sewing Data (GSD) and relevant knowledge in SAM/SMV analysis.

Able to communicate in verbal and written English.

Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
