About the team
Financial Accounting Section is responsible for financial, regulatory and tax reporting function including HKMA returns and tax computation. It also handles bank reconciliation and accounting operation control function.
Role requirements

• Provide timely and accurate financial and non-financial information, including HKMA Banking Returns, Tax Returns and surveys, to local regulators and tax authorities
• Prepare the financial statements of the Bank and coordinate the financial audit matters with external auditor
• Deliver timely and accurate group reporting as per group requirements
• Ensure effective and efficient internal control systems regarding financial accounting and regulatory reporting are in place
• Develop internal accounting policies and internal control for the bank
• Closely monitor compliance with local statutory requirements, and alert for the management for necessary actions
• Liaise with local regulator(s) for different requests and inquiries
• Carry out on-going maintenance and enhancement of finance related systems
• Support the new product review process on accounting and reporting areas
• Support any ad-hoc projects assigned by the Management

• Supports Head of Department in transforming organization/business model/operation
• Builds an internal and external network and acquires knowledge to design strategy
• Makes job allocation and time management effective by carefully monitoring staff's ability and workload
• Proposes and creates solutions to difficult matters with a range of expertise
• Motivates staff to work to their full potential and guides them for their self development

Competencies

• We are looking for someone who is a role model and leads Section to create the future by showing clear direction
• The ideal candidate should lead section by promoting communication and team building, and managing people matters in a fair and consistent manner
• He/she should respects for, and commits to, high standards of business conduct and integrity in managing his/her section, and conducting operations/reporting, etc.

Work experience, education and skills

• Degree holder in Accounting/Finance/ Business with ACCA/HKICPA or equivalent
• Minimum of 10 years solid experience of HKMA banking returns and relevant reports, preferred big 4 audit background
• Strong product knowledge and good exposures to local regulatory requirements
• Familiar with banking systems and bank products is a plus
• Proactive and energetic and act as a good team player with a committed mindset
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving skills and strong collaboration across the teams
• Good written and spoken English & Chinese
