Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 528842), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, with at least two years’ work experience or teaching experience in mechanical engineering, microelectronic engineering, or a relevant area. They should demonstrate accomplishments in teaching and contributions in knowledge exchange, curriculum development, pedagogy and administrative services. The Department places emphasis on opportunities in experiential learning, and proven capability to implement these approaches will be a definite advantage, especially on microelectronic engineering, microfabrication processes, and advanced manufacturing. Those with experience/proficiency in nanofabrication, cleanroom operations, consumer electronic product design, advanced electronic packaging, and smart materials will have higher priority.
Taught postgraduate programs now occupy a significant sector of the educational initiatives of the Department. The appointee will be responsible for quality teaching in relevant subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervision of student projects, course design and curriculum development and active participation in knowledge exchange. He/She is alsoexpected to participate in administrative services for the Department’s taught postgraduate programs. For those who have more than five years of teaching experience at the tertiary level or working experience in an equivalent professional setting and demonstrate good teaching skills preferably with experience in curriculum development may be considered for the Senior Lecturer position.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
