Joining Product & Operations IT
Within IT, the IT Product and Operations team is an experienced, forward-thinking and composed of multiple sub streams. The main purpose of the team is to lead the digital strategy and transformation of Operations and Products functions through effective business partnering and conceptualizing, delivering and supportiinnovativeart and secure IT technologies across the end-to-end value chain.

What’s the purpose of this role?
We are dedicated to delivering high-quality heat not burn devices to our Consumers. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Project Manager focused on Firmware Release and Change Requests. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the firmware release process for our electronic devices and will also be responsible for establishing and handling the end-to-end processes for new change requests received that impact the engineering platform. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 5 years of experience in firmware management, preferably within a large FMCG electronics company. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with large cross-functional teams located across multiple geographies (primarily Asia and Europe). In this position, the Project Manager will use the existing processes to lead while making improvements for more seamless execution.

Your day-to-day
Your day-to-day activities will be focused on handling the Firmware Release cycles and change requests that come into the Connected Product Engineering backlog. This role is pivotal for us to keep pace with the demands of technology changes and to excite and delight our Consumers on a regular basis. You will have autonomy to define the processes and structure to deliver as efficiently and effectively as possible to help increase our ability to deliver to our Consumers. Key aspects of the role include:
- Lead the end-to-end firmware release process, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.
- Working closely with the teams involved to develop and release the FW, conduct testing, etc. to help ensure there are no issues when the release is launched.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality assurance and to coordinate firmware releases. Provides updates to the business to advise the markets of the release and any potential impact.
- Develop and maintain release schedules, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business objectives.
- Monitor and track firmware release progress, identifying and addressing any issues or risks.
- Implement and maintain best practices for firmware release management, including version control, documentation, and testing procedures.
- Communicate release status, issues, and risks to partners, providing regular updates and reports.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously improve the firmware release process, seeing opportunities for efficiency and quality enhancements.
- For change requests, the PM will need to qualify demand, determine benefits, and work with Architecture or Engineering teams to develop solutions that meet business needs within required timescales. In this role, the PM will establish and run the end-to-end process for new change requests impacting engineering.
- Qualify the demand for change requests, assessing their feasibility and potential benefits.
- Collaborate with Architecture and/or Product Owners to develop solutions that address the identified needs.
- Lead the delivery of the change request and provide updates to the business on progress, challenges, etc.
- Develop and maintain change request documentation, including requirements, benefits, and implementation plans.
- Monitor and track the progress of change requests, identifying and addressing any issues or risks.
- Implement and maintain standard processes for change request management, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate change request status, issues, and risks to partners, providing regular updates and reports.
- Continuously improve the change request process, seeing opportunities for efficiency and quality enhancements.
Who are you?
- Over 5 years of experience in firmware release management, preferably within a large FMCG electronics company.
- Proven experience in managing technology projects using project management best practices.
- Proven experience in organizing and supporting multiple teams and departments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficiency and productivity
- Ability to influence and lead people through change
- Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work with large cross-functional teams located across multiple geographies.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Knowledge of firmware development processes and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
