Private Banking and Trust Services - Private Banking Department

Hang Seng's Private Banking provides services for people who have successfully built their asset base and now want to place their wealth in the hands of experts who know how to nurture it.
Our banking services and products are bespoke, ranging from tailored investment advice and capital solutions to holistic health and personal protection and trustee services. Our team offers professional wealth management advice at both a local level and on a global scale.
Should you join our Private Banking business, you will focus on building close relationship with our high-net-worth customers, providing professional advice and premium service to them and contribute to the profitability of the Bank.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Senior Credit Manager.

Principal responsibilities

Ensure that HASE operates within the agreed risk appetite and uphold credit control and timely escalation for material cases/ issues
Work with Front Office and clients on underwriting opportunities
Review and approve/concur credit proposals in Private Banking
Formulate and review credit guidelines and policies on regular/ ad hoc basis to cope with business needs, credit appetite and regulatory changes
Support the rollout of the industry / bank-wide projects to ensure compliance with the latest regulatory environment
Oversee the loan portfolio performance and implement robust credit monitoring and control measure
Develop periodic/ad hoc reporting and portfolio analysis for internal departments and external parties, including WCRM, MTS, FIN, RC, LGA, etc.
Conduct regular review on work processes and service levels and initiate change to enhance client experience, increase operational efficiencies and streamline
Keep abreast on market development and competitor move and propose new ideas to ensure market competitiveness

Requirements

University degree in a related discipline OR other relevant qualifications
Minimum 8 years’ banking experience with knowledge in credit advisory, control/monitoring and operations an advantage
Strong business sense and credit skills
Good analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
Attentiveness to details and ability to work independently and under pressure
Proficiency in both English and Chinese, with good knowledge of application software such as MS Excel and Power Point
Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective deliverables
