Data Engineer Trainee

The MN COO SCM DNA AAA team plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the supply chain by providing data-driven insights, driving continuous improvement.
Core Focus Areas of the DNA AAA Team:
Data Collection & Analysis: We translate business problems into data models, design innovative data visualizations, and clean data to support predictive analytics solutions.
Data Quality & Integrity: We evaluate large datasets for quality and accuracy, determine root causes for data quality errors, and recommend long-term solutions.
Data Modeling & Harmonization: We understand the data model in terms of business processes, drive improvement actions on data modeling and data harmonization, and write testing plans and routines.
Data Engineering & Automation: We automate data collection, manage continuous integration and regression testing processes, and ensure data is cleared for release according to delivery specifications.
Project Management & Maintenance: We drive datamodelling documentation activities, manage maintenance work after projects go live, and act as the point person for clearing data for release.
Proactive Decision Making: We design data models for innovative data visualization and predictive analytics solutions to drive proactive decision making.
Position: Data Engineer Trainee
Duration: Fixed term for 6 months with potential contract renewal

Provides transparency with the reliable data about SC performance. Translate business problems into data models and design innovative data visualization and cleans data to support predictive analytics solutions. Supports continuous improvement actions with measurable effect through automating data collection. Support the SCM team in understanding and steering the supply chain performance and in driving continuous improvement practices.
- Understand the data model in terms of business process , drive improvement actions on data modeling and data harmonization
- Write testing plans and routines, manage continuous integration and regression testing processes, and be the point person for clearing data for release according to delivery specifications
- Driving datamodelling documentation activites
- Do the maintenance work after a project goes live and is in production phase
- Evaluate large dataset for quality and accuracy, Determine root cause for data quality errors and make recommendations for long-term solutions
- Work on designing data models for innovative data visualization and predictive analytics solutions to drive proactive decision making.
- Design, implement visualisation in Power Platforms (Pbi etc)
- Analyse new use cases and design solution templates and prepare proposals for process improvements. Clean and transform data with use of T-SQL
- Independently work and/or drive data exploration and data quality projects through various SC units.
- Act as an expert in data engineering subject for SCM through knowledge sharing and active collaboration in the performance reporting and analytics community.
Background/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field of study required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrable analytics experience including ability to synthesize and present intelligence derived from data
- Expresses company’s brand, culture and values
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Talent for quickly learning new tasks
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills with the ability to make copious amounts of data into an insightful story with actionable recommendation
- Hands-on experience with current Business Intelligence tools like MS Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview
- Experience with database solutions such Oracle SQL, MS SQL, MS SSAS, Azure MS SQL
- Proficiency in transact SQL
- High ethical standards; able to manage confidential information and projects
- Passionate about moving from data and insight to action and impact with a sense of urgency
- Good interpersonal skills to work as part of a team combined with ability to engage with variety of stakeholders
