The role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Backend Engineer to join our team in Hungary, to work in one of our international, cross-functional teams. As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing mission critical, scalable and robust applications. Your expertise in concurrent computing, containerization and distributed systems will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality and reliable services to our customers. This position requires both a deep understanding of backend technologies, and a basic knowledge of cloud technologies and services of the major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Go.
• Build and maintain cloud-based applications, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following best practices for software engineering.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, designing system components that are robust and scalable.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with other Software Engineers, QA Engineers and Managers to ensure the development of the right solutions aligned with project goals.
Stay current with industry trends and technologies, particularly in Go, cloud platforms, and streaming.

Requirements
Qualifications/ memberships or equivalent

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; a master's degree or higher is preferred - or equivalent work experience

Experience, skills and knowledge

• Several years experience specific to Backend Development
• Experience in developing concurrent applications
• Proficiency in Go
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

Personal qualities & attributes

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex backend issues
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in cloud technologies and industry trends

Please note this role is Budapest, Hungary based and applicants will require legal right to work in this location. We expect that you will work in-office on a regular basis in order to collaborate with the team.
Our Budapest office is centrally located with plenty of local amenities and transport links.
