Job Summary: The Consultant Urologist will provide expert clinical care for patients with urological conditions. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of urological disorders, performing surgical procedures, and contributing to the advancement of urological medicine through research and education. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in urology, a strong commitment to patient care, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients with urological conditions.
• Diagnose and treat urological disorders, including but not limited to, kidney stones, bladder infections, prostate issues, and cancers of the urinary tract.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medical management and surgical interventions.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing urological procedures.
• Surgical Duties:
• Perform a range of urological surgical procedures, including minimally invasive techniques and traditional surgeries.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and other specialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in on-call duties for emergency urological cases.
• Patient Education and Communication:
• Educate patients and their families about urological conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring they are well-informed about their treatment plans.
• Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in medical records.
• Collaboration and Teamwork:
• Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, radiologists, oncologists, and primary care physicians.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental protocols and guidelines.
• Research and Development:
• Engage in clinical research and contribute to the advancement of urological knowledge and practices.
• Stay current with developments in urology and integrate new techniques and technologies into practice.
• Publish research findings in medical journals and present at conferences as appropriate.
• Education and Training:
• Provide training and mentorship to junior urologists, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development activities.
• Administrative Duties:
• Contribute to the administrative functions of the department, including maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
• Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Education and Training:
• Medical degree (MD or equivalent).
• Completion of urology residency program.
