ENGINEERING ASSISTANT

We have an opening for an ENGINEERING ASSISTANT at our corporate office based in Indianapolis. The Engineering assistant will help design and develop products from concept to manufacturing release. Requires interaction with various internal departments and external suppliers to accomplish goals.

Essential Job Functions:
Assists in mechanical or electrical development and verification.
Creates Engineering Change Notices for design changes, while maintaining archives and detailed revision histories for all designs.
Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
Reads and interprets technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Confers with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
Assists in project/development objectives.
Reports to Engineering Manager

Experience/Skills Required:
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in applicable Engineering/Technology preferred although applicable experience may also be evaluated for the role
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving and time management skills
Good design aptitude and knowledge
Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software
Self-motivated, highly organized and a team worker
Flexibility in developing new skills/responsibilities as requirements evolve over time

Ability to adjust focus – adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
