Senior Resident Medicine

Job Summary:
The Senior Resident in General Medicine is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting clinical evaluations, and leading patient management under the guidance of attending physicians. This role requires advanced clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff and multidisciplinary teams. The Senior Resident will also be involved in educational activities, research, and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians.
Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
Clinical Duties:
Lead daily ward rounds and ensure effective communication of patient status and care plans.
Supervise and mentor junior residents and medical students, providing guidance and feedback.
Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays, to provide continuous patient care.
Education and Training:
Deliver lectures, tutorials, and clinical teaching sessions for medical students and junior residents.
Participate in and contribute to departmental teaching programs and continuing medical education activities.
Stay current with medical advancements and integrate new knowledge into practice.
Research and Quality Improvement:
Engage in research activities, including designing studies, collecting data, and publishing findings.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental efficiency.
Contribute to protocol development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and medical records.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to administrative decision-making processes.
Professional Development:
Attend and present at medical conferences and workshops to stay abreast of advancements in general medicine.
Pursue opportunities for professional growth and specialization within the field.

Qualifications:

Education: Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and completion of residency training in Internal Medicine or General Medicine.
