Apprentice Plumber

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Plumber. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and technical skills in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, with a specific focus on energy-efficient solutions. Under the guidance of experienced plumbers, the Apprentice Plumber will contribute to various projects aimed at promoting sustainable water and energy practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures, adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Learn and apply principles of energy-efficient plumbing practices and sustainable water management under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Support senior plumbers in diagnosing and troubleshooting plumbing issues and implementing effective solutions to ensure optimal performance of plumbing systems.
- Participate in on-site inspections and assessments to identify opportunities for improving water and energy efficiency, recommending appropriate plumbing upgrades or retrofits.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate documentation of project details, including materials used, work performed, and any necessary follow-up actions.
- Comply with all health and safety guidelines and participate in regular safety training to maintain a safe working environment for all team members and clients.
- Learn to read and interpret plumbing blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to facilitate the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems.
- Gain practical experience in utilizing various plumbing tools and equipment necessary for installations and repairs, ensuring proper handling and maintenance of tools.
- Attend relevant training sessions and workshops to enhance technical knowledge and stay updated with the latest developments in plumbing and energy-efficient technologies.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to maintaining high-quality work standards throughout the apprenticeship program.
- Completed Leaving Certificate
- Strong interest in plumbing systems and a passion for promoting energy and water efficiency and sustainable practices.
- Basic understanding of plumbing principles, pipefitting, and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced plumbers to gain practical hands-on experience.
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and regulations while working on-site or in a workshop environment.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to various challenges and tasks within the plumbing trade.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required by specific projects and tasks.
- A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is preferred.
