Spirit Motor Group is one of Ireland's largest automotive retail groups, with 9 locations in Dublin and Wicklow. Our dealerships in Sandyford include Sales and Aftersales for Volkswagen cars and commercial vehicles, Seat, Skoda, Cupra, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, Ford cars and Ford commercial vehicles as well as a range of premium used vehicles

We are an approved Solas Training Provider. We will support in your journey to a qualified motor technician, registering you with the Solas Apprenticeship scheme, providing you with solid mentoring, learning, manufacturer training and work experience throughout your apprenticeship in our modern service centre in the Sandyford Business Park.

About you
  • Be ready to start or already have commenced an apprenticeship as a Motor Technician
  • Have a keen interest in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles
  • Be eager to learn and stay committed to updating your technical knowledge
  • Be flexible to take on new responsibilities as your apprenticeship progresses
  • Be literate and numerate, written and spoken English
  • A full clean driving licence for driving in Ireland/EU will be a bonus
  • If you are from outside the EEA, you will need to hold a current work permit for Ireland


What will you learn?

By the end of your apprenticeship, you will be able to:
  • Carry out all vehicle service, maintenance and repair procedures
  • Diagnose faults; dismantle and reassemble the engine and its components
  • Carry out a complete engine overhaul
  • Use specialised equipment to check the operation of the lighting, steering, braking and other systems
  • Measure exhaust emissions, record the results and liaise with the customer
  • Replace various parts including timing belts and chains; clutch components; brake components; and steering and suspension components
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems
  • Test electrical and electronic systems and components.
