The Opportunity
The Chief Digital and Information Office (CDIO) is responsible for visioning and planning the power system and market of the future as well as innovating in how we operate and develop the grid to ensure we meet climate change targets and decarbonise the electricity system. Creating a culture of continuous improvement that drives technical and process innovation is central to delivering on these roles.

We have a range of opportunities for Business Analysts and Senior Business Analysts within our Future Power Markets function. In this role, you will get exposure to the end-to-end process of how policy objectives are translated into our system design. This will involve test script development by developing your own innovative ideas to create test data and scenarios such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. You will be involved with identifying and resolving system defects. You will provide progress reports to management and oversee changes which support the project. This role also gives you the opportunity to expand your skillset by providing support to the wider Future Markets team.

The Team
The Future Power Markets team is responsible for providing thought leadership in relation to market changes needed to deliver on the renewable electricity targets and is also responsible for delivering large programmes of work to deliver on changes approved by the regulatory authorities. These include Future System Service Arrangements, Scheduling & Dispatch and Long Duration Energy Storage.

These roles will work within the team responsible for the Scheduling & Dispatch programme. This is an extremely dynamic project and has many of the characteristics of a start-up. The role will provide successful candidates with a unique opportunity to understand the systems and tools used in the day to day running of the power system and market in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

About you
Successful candidates will have:

• Fin-tech; Engineering; Economics; Business and Accountancy; Regulation; Law; and other energy, sustainability-related industries. Minimum of 2 years + post degree experience within Data analysis and statistics;
• Excellent problem solving and analysis skills.
• Ability to learn new software systems, concepts, and processes.
• Managing a wide range of tasks at the same time.
• Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
