What you would do as our Buyer/Planner
HKC Security, a part of ASSA ABLOY, is a leading designer and manufacturer of intruder alarm solutions for the UK and Irish markets, committed to delivering innovative and reliable security systems. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently, while also driving sustainability and compliance initiatives.
What you would do as our Buyer/Planner
HKC Security, a part of ASSA ABLOY, is a leading designer and manufacturer of intruder alarm solutions for the UK and Irish markets, committed to delivering innovative and reliable security systems. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently, while also driving sustainability and compliance initiatives.
You would also:
- Source and purchase electronic components and other materials required for manufacturing intruder alarm systems.
- Collaborate with production, product management, and R&D teams to accurately forecast the materials needed based on production schedules, market demand, and new product launch plans.
- Evaluate and onboard new suppliers that align with category management strategy and our company’s quality, pricing, and sustainability standards.
- Align procurement strategies with the company’s sustainability goals, such as reducing waste, sourcing eco-friendly materials, and improving energy efficiency.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best value for the company and to achieve group KPI’s.
The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven extensive experience (min. 7 years) in the procurement of electronic components within a multinational manufacturing or electronics environment and experience managing vendor relationships in other jurisdictions.
- Is familiar with WEEE regulations and experience in reporting for WEEE compliance and hasexperience of INCO Terms, export processes, customs regulations, and international shipping logistics.
- Has experience in material forecasting and inventory management and has excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Has knowledge of ERP systems and material procurement software as Pegasus or MS AX and knowledge of OTIF and MTPT and related business KPIs.
