Daily Task List for Catering Assistants
Ø Ensure that there is milk in the milk machine/milk poly
Ø Ensure that milk jugs are filled for the morning trays
Ø Cut bread as required for trays
Ø Put juice and milk on all trays
Ø When trays are delivered back to the kitchen wash all crockery
Ø Ensure all trolleys are clean at all times
Ø Assist with checking deliveries and storing deliveries in the correct location i.e. dry goods store, fridge, etc.
Ø Ensure that the bins are emptied and the rubbish bags are secured safely in the trailer outside
Ø Ensure that the dining room tables are set correctly for breakfast i.e. glasses, cups, saucers, teaspoons, dessert spoons, knives, etc.
Ø Ensure that salt and pepper shakers in the dining room are cleaned and filled at all times
Ø Ensure that sugar bowls are cleaned and filled at all times
Ø During meal times assist with serving residents in the dining room i.e. bringing out meals, pouring tea etc.
Ø Ensure that dining room is set correctly for dinner glasses, cups, saucers, teaspoons, dessert spoons, knives, forks, beakers on appropriate tables etc.
Ø Ensure that floor is clean at all times in the dining room, paying particular attention to the area under tables
Ø After dinner ensure that fruit trolleys are ready for collection by care assistants
Ø Ensure the area around the bin, the sink area, the dishwasher area, and all benches in the kitchen are cleaned
Ø Ensure the floor is cleaned on a daily basis and buffed once per week
Ø Ensure that all cutlery is cleaned and properly dried to avoid water stains
Ø Ensure that the dishwasher is cleaned, Emptied times a day.
Ø Ensure that dish-cloths and tea-towels are the sink area are placed in the laundry basket and brought to laundry twice a day.
Ø Ensure laundry basket is brought to laundry
Ø Ensure that the cooker areas are clean 2 X daily.
Ø Ensure that at the end of a shift the kitchen is locked up and the key is given directly to the staff nurse on duty
Ø Ensure that all cleaning schedules are correctly filled in and signed by the person who has completed the activity
Ø Ensure when signing for deliveries that all items are checked off and any discrepancies are noted
Ø Ensure that all the health and safety procedures are followed at all times in the kitchen.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From €13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
Experience:
  • Kitchen: 1 year (preferred)
