Jellyfish Marketplace open 12 months of the year is located in the maritime town of Kilrush Co Clare. Each season brings its own charm and we are hiring now for the autumn/winter/spring season. This is a place where you can showcase your old favourites whilst inventing and exploring new dishes.
If you are a cook or chef and are looking for part-time hours (<30hours a week) we would love to meet you and we are open to all levels of experience.
We have a stunning heritage old flour mill that we have restored and we are here to do it justice. Our ethos around food is simple - We believe in quality ingredients that speak for themselves.
We have a lovely team and now we are looking to expand and add a few more motivated people to join us. All you need to have is a passion for food and cooking and want to be part of one team delivering fabulous food in STUNNING West Clare!

Job Title: Chef or Cook | DAY TIME only
Location: Jellyfish Marketplace, Merchants Quay, Kilrush, Co Clare. Ireland
Job Type: Full-Time | Part-Time or short contract
Responsibilities include:
Menu Planning: Develop creative and appealing menus that align with the restaurant's theme, target audience, and culinary vision.
Recipe Creation: Innovate and create unique recipes while ensuring the highest standards of flavour, presentation, portion control and nutritional value.
Kitchen Management: Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, and workflow coordination.
Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and safety, conducting regular inspections and assessments.
Ordering and Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, monitor stock, and place orders for ingredients, ensuring freshness and cost-effectiveness.
Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Budget Management: Work within budgetary constraints, maximising efficiency without compromising quality.
Collaboration: Collaborate with the management team, servers, and other staff to ensure smooth communication and a seamless dining experience.
Culinary Trends Awareness: Stay updated on culinary trends, emerging ingredients, and techniques to keep the menu fresh and innovative.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Head Cook in a fast paced kitchen.
- Food safety certification Level 2 and or Level 3 considered advantageous.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Creativity and passion for culinary arts.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and food safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina for prolonged periods of standing and lifting.
- Excellent written and verbal English is essential.
- Must have a work permit for EU Countries.
