Childcare Educator - Part time afternoons

Job Summary
Little People's Academy, Dublin 1 branch, are seeking part-time Early Years Educators to work part-time (afternoon) and part-time (lunch cover), who have experience and a love with working with children aged between 1 years to 5 years of age. You will play an integral role in supporting and assisting the branch manager in the provision of care and early educaton to a high quality in a holistic setting.
Main Objective
To ensure that high standards of care, education, safety and well-being of the children in our setting are met, in collaboration with the settings management and staff team. The Early Years Educator will assist in providing a safe, age and developmentally appropriate environment by implementing early learning programmes and care protocols in accordance with all relevant early-years legislation, and the settings policies and procedures.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Flexibility to work with children of various age groups; from 1 years to 5 years of age.
Co-ordinate the implementation of activities suitable for different age groups,
Maintain room and equipment, to always ensure the health and safety of children,
Ensure a particularly good standard of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained,
Support children’s developments – emotional, social, physical, communication and cognitive, in carrying out activities.
Work in partnership with the other team members in implementing a broad, balanced, age and developmentally appropriate early years curriculum which references Aistear the National Curriculum framework and Siolta, the National Quality Standards.
Work in partnership with parents to ensure that they feel connected and part of their child’s early learning journey at Little People’s Academy; by liaising with them using various modes of communication.
In conjunction with the staff team, assist in the development of long, medium, and short-term curriculum plans for the early years setting.
To attend staff and room meetings and encourage commitment to quality improvement through ongoing professional development and training.
Respect and encourage the rights of the child; allowing where possible, them to lead their care and learning and to make decisions that directly involve them by using various modes of communication suitable for their age and development.
Maintain strict confidentiality,
Perform other reasonable and relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Person Specifications

Must have a minimum QQI level 5 qualification in early-years care and education or equivalent
Relevant experience working with different young children.
Ability to work as part of a team as well.
Ability to take initiative to take on tasks.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
Kindness, warmth, and responsiveness to the needs of children
At LPA we teach and communicate with our children mainly through the English language; therefore excellent communication through English, verbal and written, and relating skills with children, staff and parents is a must.
Awareness of health and safety issues and legal requirements relating to an early learning and care service
Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations

Notes
This position is subject to a successful interview process, a clear Garda Vetting Disclosure, Police Clearance, where necessary, and verification of at least 2 references, with one of those being from the most recent employer
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: €14.00-€15.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
